This feature documentary looks at what makes a city a home or a hell for a human. About half of the world lives in urban areas, and it's predicted that by 2050 this will increase to 80% of the world's population. Danish architect and professor Jan Gehl has studied human behavior in cities for 40 years, in what he calls 'Life Between Buildings'. On streets and in public spaces, how do we interact, rest, communicate; what do we see? With his insights, we journey to cities around the world, examining the human need for intimacy and inclusion, and how we might better build cities for the people who live in them.
